School Meals

Free School Meals for Infant Age Pupils

All children attending Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are offered a free school meal as part of the Government’s Universal Free School Meals for Infants programme. Children attending our Ladybird Nursery can also order school lunches. These are charged at £2.94 per meal and need to be ordered and paid for in advance via the Parent App.

Everyday children are given the choice of a standard hot meal, vegetarian option, jacket potato or school packed lunch with a choice of the following fillings: Cheese, ham, tuna or egg.

We also have themed lunch days to celebrate worldwide and national festivals, celebrations or charity events. (Chinese New Year, Christmas lunch, etc…)

Please complete the application form below if you believe that your child is entitled to income based free school meals. Please return this form direct to the school.

We do our best to meet all dietary requirements.

If your child requires a medical diet due to a food allergy, food intolerance or a medical condition that requires an adapted menu (e.g. carbohydrate count for Type 1 Diabetes), please follow this link to request a medical diet: https://orders.lunchhound.co.uk/medicaldiets/request For further support, please refer to the Parent User Guide.

Packed Lunches

Children are also welcome to bring a packed lunch from home. Below is some guidance for packed lunches. Packed lunches should be sent into school in a named lunchbox.

  • As part of our healthy schools and PSHE curriculum we promote and encourage packed lunches to be healthy and balanced, whilst understanding that some children may have quite restricted diets.
  • We are a no nut school and therefore do ask that all lunches are nut free.
  • It is our policy that packets of sweets, large chocolate bars and fizzy drinks are not included in lunches, but a small chocolate bar or piece of cake is fine as a desert element to a pack up.
  • We also ask that items such as grapes and cherry tomatoes are sliced (top to bottom) to help prevent against choking on these items
